Digital / Computer Skills All Fresh Graduates are expected to possess

 Ability to use a computer / digital gadget  is no more a special skill .It’s a fundamental requirement now. While  all youngsters  can operate the basic functions of a computer, tablet or a mobile phone and generally they are aware of the basic functions, what they possibly lack is the awareness about specific functions they are expected to know and possess the skills of / ability to perform.  As freshers ready to enter the Job market they are expected to know more than what an amateur teenager may know.

Here is a detailed breakdown of Microsoft Office Suite skills and other digital skills that freshers are typically expected to possess, along with examples of tasks they should be able to perform.

 It may be noted that as a Job seeking candidate, you are expected have a fairly good ability to perform the various tasks mentioned in the following list . Mere awareness will not help.

Also it may be noted that, these are not any particular field related requirements but general prerequisites for almost all fields and industries whether its Humanities, Commerce, Business Management, Technology or any other.

 Microsoft Office Suite Skills:

1. Microsoft Word

  • Create and format professional documents
  • Use styles and templates
  • Create and manage tables
  • Use track changes for document collaboration
  • Generate table of contents and indexes
  • Perform mail merge

 2. Microsoft Excel

 11. Basic web skills

  •  Edit simple website content using content management systems (e.g., WordPress)

 12. Cloud storage and file sharing

 13. Video conferencing
